DuBois Ashong


DuBois Ashong is an AFI filmmaker who blends his gritty style with a large world view to create stories that speak to the plight of the under and unrepresented with a keen eye for breathing humanity into each frame. His short Where The Water Runs was screened at CAA Moebius in 2018, and won the Smithsonian African American Film Festival, Best Short at the BlackStar Film Festival, amongst many others. Most recently, Dubois finished shooting his debut horror feature Geechee for AGC Studios starring Andrea Riseborough. He was also selected for Ryan Murphy’s HALF Initiative in TV Directing, shadowing on multiple episodes.
