Guy Pooles

Cinematographer

Guy Pooles was born and raised in England, where his study of Theatre, Photography and Film nurtured a passion for the craft of Cinematography. He moved to Los Angeles to study Cinematography at the American Film Institute Conservatory, where he earned an MFA in the discipline. In 2014 Guy earned the Linwood Dunn Student Heritage Award from The American Society of Cinematographers for his work on the short film Dirty Laundry. Since then, Guy has had the privilege of shooting a multitude of narrative projects, from the network television series Two Sentence Horror Stories on The CW, to being hired as the cinematographer on the third season of the Stage 13 / Warner Bros. digital series Snatchers. His cinematography has been screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, LA Film Festival and many more. Guy now works between the USA and the UK. He strives to keep his work free from an identifiable style, preferring instead to work closely with the director to craft the visual language of each new narrative project entirely from scratch.
