"Essence" and "Ibeji"

Bola is a first-generation Nigerian-American director with a strong understanding of comedy and a deep passion of genre. She was selected for the class of 2014 AFI Directing Workshop for Women, the inaugural class for the Ryan Murphy’s HALF Mentorship Program, and one of the five filmmakers chosen for Robert Rodriguez’s docuseries ‘Rebel Without A Crew.’  Her short ARE WE GOOD PARENTS? premiered at SXSW last year and won Best Short Film and Best Emerging Filmmaker at AT&T’s SHAPE Event. In 2019, Bola directed her first episode of television for QUEEN SUGAR, before going on to direct episodes of SIREN, GOD FRIENDED ME, BIG SHOT, LUCIFER, TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES, and WALKER. She is currently working on a block of RAISING DION (Netflix).
