I LOVE BEKKA & LUCY Earns First Time Emmy Nomination

July 13, 2018

LOS ANGELES – July 13, 2018 – Stage 13, Warner Bros. Digital Networks’ award-winning Gen Z/Millennial original premium digital content brand, today announced that actor Alexis Denisof has received his first Emmy nomination for his role of Glenn in the brand’s series I Love Bekka & Lucy. Denisof is nominated for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards in the “Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series” category.

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards will telecast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, September 17, (8:00 – 11:00 PM ET/5:00 – 8:00 PM PT) on NBC. Denisof’s category will be announced at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards presentations which will be made on September 8 and 9, with a ceremony to air Saturday, September 15, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FXX.

“I’m thrilled and honored to have my first Emmy nomination be for this role and series. I Love Bekka & Lucy is a special series to me – the complexities of this character combined with the heart and humor that Rachael Holder wrote, created and directed is something that actors want to be a part of,” said Denisof. “My character, Glenn, is an important role both for what he is searching for and overcoming. It gave me great depth and emotion to cover, alongside the tremendous humor and modern relationships. Our entire cast and crew created amazing character roles and we can’t wait for season two!”

“What excites me about this nomination is Alexis’s work,” said Holder. “As a director, he trusted me in a difficult scene, giving a performance that was risky, but ultimately showed what is human and funny about our show. I am thrilled for Alexis and also the light this that this will shine on a series about two black women. Here’s to humanity in comedy, inclusion and Alexis for his great work!”
