Stage 13, the home of rap’s latest web series, Independent, looks to step into that realm with a show detailing the life, times and grind of an indie rap artist while stripping away the glamour and glitz. The result is a 12-episode short form digital series, accessed through Stage13.com, Facebook and YouTube, that gives an authentic glimpse at what it takes for an artist to survive without the backing of a major label.
