"Essence" and "Ibeji"

Bola is a first generation Nigerian-American director with a strong understanding of comedy and a deep passion of genre. She was selected for the class of 2014 AFI Directing Workshop for Women, the inaugural class for the Ryan Murphy’s HALF Mentorship Program, and one of the five filmmakers chosen for Robert Rodriguez’s docuseries ‘Rebel Without A Crew.’ She is in the current class of the DIRECTHER Program. Her short ARE WE GOOD PARENTS? premiered at SXSW last year and won Best Short Film and Best Emerging Filmmaker at AT&T’s SHAPE Event presented by Ava Duvernay. Bola directed her first episode of television for QUEEN SUGAR in April and just finished working CW’s LEGACIES. She will next be directing SIRENS, GOD FRIENDED ME and LUCIFER. She shadowed David Fincher on MINDHUNTER this year and is in consideration for season 3 if it’s picked up.
